The Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee (formerly Seminars) is responsible for providing educational and informational programs to paralegals in the D.C. Metro area. NCAPA’s CLE Program presents more than 10 courses annually, in addition to its bi-annual CLE Conference. The program offers some of the country’s best cite checking courses, in addition to providing a variety of courses tailored to the paralegal professional. We strive to offer continuing education courses that provide practical knowledge needed to perform your job with greater skill and effectiveness. In addition, these programs afford opportunities to network and gain incites from your peers.
Although the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia does not require paralegals to complete continuing legal education courses, NCAPA encourages its members to complete at least 6 hours of CLE credits per year, including at least 2 hours of CLE credits in Ethics. The majority of the courses are designed to meet CLE standards of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA).
Take a look at the Event Calendar for courses currently scheduled.
Members who would like to participate or assist the CLE Committee in planning future events, or registration check-in for current events, should contact cle@ncapa.com. If you are interested in sponsoring, hosting or presenting a course, please contact the CLE Program Coordinator, Joyce Thayden, RP, also at cle@ncapa.com.
