NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

NFPA is pleased to announce that the application for the 2012 Thomson-Reuter's scholarships is now available on the NFPA homepage, www.paralegals.org. Thomson-Reuters provides two scholarships in the amounts of $3000 and $2000 to students in paralegal programs, as well as a travel stipend for the winners to attend the 2012 NFPA Annual Convention, which is in Anchorage, Alaska this September.

The scholarship application provides all necessary qualification information as well as this year's essay topic. All applications for the Thomson-Reuter's scholarships must be postmarked on or before July 1, 2012; winners will be notified on August 17, 2012, although information on the winners will not be made available generally until September 29, 2012, the date of the NFPA awards luncheon.
